The Rahr-West Art Museum focuses on educating and exhibiting the American art of the last three centuries. The museum collection is housed in a Victorian mansion built in the 1890s, with new wings added in 1975 and 1986. The permanent collection at the museum features Jamaican paintings from artists Gerhard Miller, pieces by Marko Spalatin, and Bruno Ertz's "Northern Shrike." The museum is located two blocks west of Union Park, just south of the city center.
